Book with Traveloka

Happy New Year everyone! Welcome 2018!

Disclaimer: This post is about my experience with Traveloka and review about Mabini Mansion Hotel.

I just want to share how amazing traveloka app is. I know that this is not new to people who travel a lot but this may be a help for people that will try it for the first time.

It is already our family tradition to stay in a hotel for New Year’s Eve. So a week before Dec. 31, I downloaded the traveloka app to search for cheap hotels. I found great deals however I think I was late to check for the hotels that I want to stay because no more were rooms available. Morning of Dec. 31, I had a final talk to my mom regarding where to stay and she said that I can decide where (we were looking for affordable hotel rates because we are not rich). I checked the app once again and I always go to the review section and rely to the guests comments about the certain hotels. I found this hotel, Mabini Mansion located just beside the famous Luneta Park. All reviews are good so I decided to book Deluxe Suite for only 1500+ php or roughly $30. Traveloka is so generous to offer discount for the first time users so instead of paying $30 for 1 night, they gave me a 40% discount so my card was charged with only $18 (I just goggled the currency rate). Most importantly, you really need to know that booking with Traveloka is hassle-free. I only spent 2 minutes and I was done!

I booked a room in Mabini Mansion because this is the hotel that is so budget-friendly and got lots of good reviews (from the remaining available hotels shown in the app). Mabini Mansion is located in 1011 A Mabini St, Ermita, Metro Manila. Jeepneys are accessible just in front of the hotel. Since there was a fireworks display in Luneta Park, we got no problem watching it. The place is good and we got no problem in checking-in even though we booked last minute. Hehe.

Mabini Mansion Hotel is an old hotel but you dont need to be scared because it doesn’t look old. In fact, it feels like home because it has kitchen area, couches, and it is still spacious (I chose the deluxe suite type of room).

Check the video and pictures I took below. (Dont mind the noise and the topless man 😆)

The only problem I encountered were the mosquitos. I got bitten many times 😦

The location of the hotel is close to the ff:

Boyfriend for sale: The Sandwich Guy

I think it has been 2 weeks since we went to Baguio. We stayed along session road so it will be near at Burnham Park and at the night market. We checked in in La Brea Inn. I like their staffs. Very approachable and accommodated us warmly.

Just few steps away, you will find this Sandwich shop, The Sandwich Guy. It claims to be the world’s first hexagon sandwich. I can’t disagree because this is indeed the first hexagon sandwich I tried.

For the location, just look for their signage outside because the same place near the pathway is a photo studio shop. The inside part of the place is the sandwich shop. Are you picturing it? Sorry not really good in describing places.

Here’s how the place looks like. Admirable I’ll say.

They provide colored paper and pen so you can leave remarks, dedication, and anything nice. 😉14358792_536849693179328_1607848140922553620_n

And now for the food

I was craving for sandwich that time and good thing The Sandwich Guy was to the rescue. Hehe! I ordered half size of  carbonara. Small serving, yes. Hyuu~~ 😦 But the size of the sandwich is enough to fill your tummy. They offer half size. The size on the photo is full size. Remember? Hungry? Hehe! I will give 5 star for affordable price. 😉 Wew! I love winking huh? 😉

I guess I was so hungry  that time that I was unable to take a photo of the sandwich  before I munched it. Anyway, it was good except for the burned bread. When you go Baguio, give it a try and be the judge. Mwah!

Holiday Getaway: Luljetta’s Hanging Gardens and Spa

Holidays are my chance to go somewhere I want to go.February 25th is a holiday in the Philippines (Edsa Holiday), and being a students is an advantage. No classes, yey! my sister and I had an early getaway. We discovered this reasort (pool + spa) near Manila. Luljetta’s Hanging Gardens is located in Antipolo.

The place is very easy to reach and with just a budget of 1,500 as the lowest budget, you’ll be able to enjoy the spa.

The resort offers two different packages: the Hanging Gardens Retrreat which cost Php 930  per person and the Hanging Gardens Getaway which cost Php 1,500 per person.

We chose the Hanging Gardens Retreat so we can save money. The only difference of the two is the Hanging Gardens Getaway includes two snacks and a four-course wellness menu. We were satisfied with the free suman (sticky rice) and iced lemongrass tea included in the package.

Here are some of the photos I took during our visit.

How to get there:

1. Ride LRT2 from Recto and get off at Santolan station.

2. Look for an FX going to Antipolo church. (Usually, there are barkers calling for passengers) Fare costs PHP 40

3. Get off at the destination of the FX and ride a tricycle going to Loreland Farm Resort. Tricycle fare costs Php 80.

A Day in Jebudo Island (제부도), South Korea

I thank the holidays in Korea for giving me time to travel. Destination; Jebudo. Address – Seosin-myeon, Hwaseong-si. Gyeonggi-do / 경기도 화성시 서신면.

There are two options to go to Jebudo:

  1. Take bus 400-1 or 999 at Suwon station on line 1 or bus 330 at Geumjeong station on line 1 (runs every 15 minutes). Get off in front of the Seosin Hanaro Mart (서신 하나로 마트, Nonghyup) and take a shuttle bus for about 10 minutes.
  2. Take bus 1004 or intracity bus no. 22 at Suwon station on line 1 and get off at Jebudo Island. Buses run every 30 minutes and the journey takes one hour.

The attraction in Jebudo is the parting of the sea. How cool is that? However, I did not witness that because there is certain time for that. Anyway here is a photo from the internet

The road that is visible in the photo is the way you will pass to reach the other side of the place where you can play in the seaside. As you can see, the other side of the road is covered of sea water. That is because of high tide. High tides happens twice (or maybe more, NOT really SURE) so you need to check the time if you plan to visit this place.

Here are my own photos from the trip
